Waiting for the Sunset
Spy Rock, Appalachian Trail, Montebello, VA. I arrived at Spy Rock an hour before sunset, Day 27 of my 2010 section hike. When I scrambled up to the top for the 360° view, Slightly Inappropriate, Stud Muffin, and Griz were already up there. I didn’t make a note of the others’ trail names. They went on to Maine, and I ended my section hike a day later after a good meal and bed at the Dutch Haus Bed & Breakfast. Lois and Earl Arnold are great hosts and they even give you a robe to wear around the house. Thru-hikers can stop by for a free lunch, May 1 – June 30. |
