Lake of Pfäffikon, Switzerland. Winter 2012. These swans are regular residents of the lake along with their six “ugly ducklings.” They flew off for a couple of weeks soon after the lake froze, presumably to the Lake of Zurich which did not freeze. The lake was declared safe for only one weekend and 10,000 people came out each day to skate or walk on it.
