Easy Cheesy Rice & Beans

Serves 1 Ingredients: - ½ Cup Instant Rice
- ¼ Cup Dehydrated Red Beans or Black-eyed Peas
- ¼ Cup Dehydrated Broccoli or Okra
- 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp Cheddar Cheese Powder
- 1 Tbsp Powdered Milk
- 1 Cup water to rehydrate
At Home: Obtain cheese powder from box of macaroni and cheese. Combine and pack cheese and milk powders in a small plastic bag. Enclose with other ingredients in a zip lock bag or freezer bag. Dehydrated ground beef or ham may be substituted for beans. On the Trail: Combine all ingredients except cheese and milk powders with 1 cup water in pot and soak for five minutes. Light stove, bring to boil, and cook for another minute. Remove from stove, stir in cheese and milk powder. Wait ten minutes with lid on. You can cook this meal in a freezer bag. Remove cheese and milk powders from freezer bag and add boiling water to the rest of ingredients in bag. Stir and wait ten minutes. Stir in cheese and milk powders and wait five more minutes.
